"...I appreciate all you have done for us."
"......Enough rambling on....I just wanted to once again tell you how much I appreciate all you have done for us. I am well aware that you have helped us far above and beyond any other realtor would have in selling our house. I only regret not listening to you when it came to pricing the house. I feel that if we had just listed it with the first price you gave us we wouldn't have had to wait 10 months to sell the house and we probabloy would have made out much better than we did. Sorry that it took me about nine months to see that. It would have made both our lives easier. I guess I just fell into the same trap that most sellers do. We all want to reach for the gold and get top dollar with maybe too much confidence that we'll get it. Even with owning what I would consider a beautiful house in a very desireable neighborhood, it did not happen for me. After having my house on the market for 10 months it no longer became an issue of what price I wanted for the house, it was a matter of what I can get someone to pay me for it. At that point I practically gave the house away just about breaking even, if not taking a loss. Ah well, big expensive lesson learned. I'd have to say I did learn a lot from you and how real estate works. It all seems to boil down to one thing. What a seller considers a reasonable asking price is not necessarily in line with the actual market value of the house. It’s amazing how one can be just a few thousand dollars off the mark and that makes all the difference. I wish I could go with you to all your new customers and tell them to just listen to you. That way people wouldn’t have to learn the hard way like I did that you were right all along. Ironically when I finally let you call the shots, the house sold quickly. I guess all those awards you’ve received are because you are an excellent realtor and you do know what you’re doing. Funny, at this point I don’t know whether this became a ‘thank you for all you’ve done’ letter or an apology letter for dragging you through such a long ordeal. The bright side is I feel like I have a new friend. In any case, I wish you a Happy Holiday season and a prosperous New Year. I am also extending an open invitation that if you ever venture down this way we would love to see you. We’ve got plenty of extra space! With Sincere Thanks"

Shelter is a very basic human need which most people accommodate by renting or buying a house or apartment. Rental property is often less-than-perfect. Tenants usually experience a rent increase every year or so and feel somewhat at the mercy of the owner. They don't necessarily feel a strong commitment to the property or the community.
Making a decision to buy a house is a major commitment, and the decision has both economic and emotional implications. Instead of paying the landlord's mortgage every month, homeowners pay their own mortgage and build up equity in their investment. When they paint, plant flowers or make improvements, their family reaps the benefits of a more beautiful environment. Homeowners are much more selective than renters about finding the perfect home, and their sense of personal satisfaction heightens the pride of ownership.
